The Alliance for Climate Strategies promotes voluntary reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. A number of Global Climate Coalition members have reformed under the Alliance with GCC's former leader.

ACS is run out of Glenn Kelly's PR and lobbying offices and has the same telephone number as Kelly's firm, Kelly Public Strategies. Glenn Kelly is the former executive director and lobbyist for the Global Climate Coalition, a similar industry coalition formed to thwart regulation or treaties designed to limit greenhouse gas emissions.

Members include the American Petroleum Institute, American Association of Railroads, American Chemistry Council, American Iron & Steel Institute, American Forest & Paper Association, Edison Electric Institute, Nuclear Energy Institute, National Lime Association, National Mining Association, National Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, and the Portland Cement Association.
