The Center for the New West is a conservative organization dedicated to economic development, free enterprise, limited government, and growth in the Western United States. They target civic, education, government and business leaders.

CNW was founded in 1989 and was a leader in the assualt on environmental education in the late 1990s through its Environmental Education Research Institute. They currently promote wise-use principles and are interested in "restructuring" the power supply of the west. CNW has received funding from Castlerock Foundation (re-formed Coors), Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, and the John M. Olin Foundation, Exxon Educational Foundaiton, ExxonMobil, and the GTE foundation. ( and Capital Research
