NWI sees themselves as a "voice of reason on the environment," and are involved with repealing the Endangered Species Act and property rights issues.
NWI is an active participant in the "wise use" movement and a regular attendee at the Alliance for America's Fly-In for Freedom - an annual wise use jamboree. They also participate in the annual Wise Use Leadership Conference held in Reno.
NWI publishes a quarterly magazine, "NWI Resource," and "Fresh Tracks," a newsletter.
Funding has come from the Monsanto Fund, Mobil Foundation, Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, John M. Olin Foundation, Chevron and ExxonMobil (http://www.capitalresearch.org/search/orgdisplay.asp?Org=NWI100 and mediatransparency.org).
